You Are Forgiven

The greatest gift that anyone can receive is salvation through Jesus Christ, from the moment we accept that gift we are forgiven. Forgiveness is something that each one of us needs. Throughout our lives we all do or say things that are wrong, unkind, unloving and sometimes down right mean. For all of those actions or words we need to be forgiven.

In order to be forgiven, we must admit that we have done wrong. God already knows what wrongs we have done, but in order to be forgiven we must confess those wrongs. Sometimes we may not realize that something we’ve done was wrong, that is why it is important to daily have time with the Lord and ask Him to reveal any unconfessed sin in our lives.

1 John 1:9 says…If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Forgiveness from God has no strings attached. He won’t remind us when we mess up again, He knows we can’t promise to never do it again…God’s forgiveness is forever. This truly is a gift that we truly grasp. When God forgives us, He doesn’t remember it anymore.

Ps. 103:2 says, As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Isa. 43:25 says, I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

When we have sinned we know that our relationship with God will not be the same until we’ve sought forgiveness, received and accepted it. This three stop process is crucial to our relationship with the Lord, we must stay on top of it so that our fellowship with Him is not broken.

Acts 3:19 says, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Knowing that you have been forgiven is one of the most freeing moments of your life. Accepting that you’ve been forgiven is a moment you’ll never forget. Realizing that no matter how many wrongs you commit you’ll always be forgiven is life changing. God alone can do all these things, only He can offer forgiveness that lasts a lifetime.

When the world or Satan tries to bring up your past and make you question whether you are truly forgiven, make sure you fight those people, thoughts and/or feelings with God’s Word.

These verses are ones that I cling to at those times…

2 Cor. 5:17 says, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Heb. 10:17 says, And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Rom. 4:7 says, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

In and of myself I am nothing, but I am clinging to all that I am in Christ! In Him I am adopted, beloved, complete, a daughter, enough and forgiven! What greater things could I ever hope for?
