The Pursuit of Wisdom

While I have come a long way on my walk with God since becoming a mother, I still have so far to go…so much to learn and much wisdom to continue to gain. Yet, I can not gain wisdom if I’m not in pursuit of wisdom. If I stop reading God’s word, stop pursuing a thriving relationship with Him, then I will not only grow stagnant in my faith, but I will be choosing to live life without the wisdom God provides. I will be choosing to live doing what only I want to do. I did this for far too many years. Not taking time to look to the Lord and seek His direction is what brought me down MANY of the paths that brought me great sorrow and heartache, much of what remains to this day.

The Pursuit of Wisdom - By Misty Leask

The pursuit of wisdom is what I personally NEED to focus on, with everything that is going on in my life and the world around me, I need to know what God wants from me through it all. Wisdom is not only gained by age and experience, but also by pursuing it through God’s word, prayer and life reflection. All three of these things will give us the opportunity to grow up in wisdom, but learning of wisdom isn’t enough. We must put what we’ve learned to action, merely reading God’s word and receiving His wisdom for our lives won’t make us wise. We must choose to act on the wisdom we’ve been given. Our actions are key to growing in wisdom, without them we’ll have the knowledge of wisdom, but not the fruit of wisdom.

Since last August, I’ve been reading the Bible alongside my besties, as we journey through the entire Bible. It’s been an amazing journey and God has revealed Himself to me throughout each book, in ways that I’ve never seen before. It’s been a wonderful journey so far and I’m SO excited at where we’re going next!

Starting Monday, June 15th, we’ll be reading through the book of Proverbs! This is exactly what I need right now and I’m so excited to be reading with my best friends and growing in wisdom together! The last week of July we’ll be spending an entire week combing through Proverbs 31 with Courtney’s eBook! This eBook was my first Good Morning Girls study and it changed my life!

I can’t wait to see how God is going to work in me again, as He continues to teach me how to become a virtuous woman, a women after His heart, a wife who is a crown to her husband and a mother who is called blessed.

If you are looking for a summer Bible study (or a long term one!) this is where you need to be! Spend the summer digging into the book of Proverbs gaining wisdom with thousands of women around the world!

You can request to join a GMG Bible Study group through the forum here. It will only be open until 9pm EST Monday, so be sure to do it before you forget!
