Do you know who you are in Christ?
In our lives there are mountains to climb and valleys to wander through. Along each of our paths it can be easy to forget who we are in Christ. This is something that we can not lose sight of, because in Christ alone, we receive strength when ours is gone. (Phil. 4:13)
I know first hand how easy it is to forget who we are in Christ. The difficulties of my days, the struggles of life, and the fallen world we live in, keep my eyes from looking up to Him at times. When I look to Him I know who I am in Him. When I don’t look to Christ, I tend to worry, stress and try to do things on my own.
Looking to Christ to know who you are isn’t always an easy task, it requires faith and repetition. It isn’t something we will do each and every time, but the more we learn to identify with Him and who we are in Him, the easier it will become.
I often need to be reminded of many things throughout my days. Whether it be via checklist, an email or a verbal reminder from my family, I often have someone or something reiterating what I forgot I needed to do. Just as I need to remember simple day to day things, I need to put to memory who I am in Christ.
Though our day to day reminders typically change, who we are in Christ does not. If we take the time, it is easier to put these things to memory because they do not change.
Looking to God’s Word throughout this series you will see exactly who you are in Christ. Each week we will look at Scripture and put one word to memory. One word that will remind you of who and/or what you are in Christ.
Since life gets busy, I am going to run this series through the alphabet, in hopes that it will help you put each word to memory. Knowing who you are in Christ is essential to living life unfulfilled and living each day for Him. I pray that this series will encourage and strengthen us all.
This looks like such a great series. So important to base our identity in truth. Thanks for sharing at Essential Fridays.
