Teaching Our Sons to Love the Lord

A Christian’s greatest calling is to love the Lord with all their heart, soul and mind. A Christian parent’s greatest calling is to teach their children how to fulfill this calling.

Teaching Our Sons to Love the Lord - By Misty Leask

I was blessed with a Christian mother and father that love the Lord with all their heart, soul and mind. As their daughter I have a lot to live up to with my children and all too often I know I fall short of where I want to be as a mother. Yet, I’m reminded that God’s mercies are new every morning and I strive to do better at the start of each new day.

As a Christian mother I desire that my son love the Lord and serve Him all the days of His life, but how is he going to learn to do so? What steps do I need to take as his mother to show him how, tell him why and do my best to ensure that he lives his life dedicated to the Lord?

Personally I am best able to ensure that I focus on the things that really matter when I have a list of ways to accomplish my goal. I love lists of all sorts; to-do lists, checklists, etc. are the keys to help me stay on track and not forget the most important parts of my life throughout my busy days.

I’m blessed to be part of the Raising Sons Series over at Kaylene Yoder’s site and you’ll find my list of ways to teach our sons to love the Lord here.

What steps do you take to teach your son to love the Lord?
