The Price of Faith

Through the study of the Word of God we find in the Old Testament that the Israelites didn’t have the blessing of living solely by faith alone. They had rules…laws that they had to follow because a price had to be paid to cover their sins. While the price for the atonement for sins hasn’t changed, how we receive it has.

price of faith, faith

The price of atonement for sins has always been a sacrifice. In the Old Testament we read that the Israelites had specific sacrifices for different sins. Yet, there was not an end to the sacrifices for them because it could not bring redemption. There could never have been enough animal’s blood spilled to completely redeem their sins. Blood that was pure was necessary for the complete redemption of the sins of world.

The price of faith required the ultimate sacrifice… Jesus.

It wasn’t until the death of Christ on Calvary that the price of faith was paid in full. All sins can be washed away because of Jesus’ death on the cross that day. We no longer have to pay for the sins we commit each day. They are as far as the east is from the west because of Christ. He paid the price for all mankind. He knew that the only way to pay in full, the price of faith was to sacrifice Himself on the cross because His blood alone was pure and innocent.

While the price of faith has been paid because of Jesus’ love for us, we have to actually accept this gift. In order to receive redemption for our sins, we have to accept that we are sinners and that without the shedding of Jesus’ blood we would have no hope. Jesus’ death on the cross provides salvation for any and all who believe and call upon His name as Savior. Once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior, we can receive the gift of faith and experience the peace that it provides!

When I consider this truth, that the price of faith was the death of Jesus at Calvary, I am humbled and a bit distraught. There are, what I feel are difficult days on the earth. Days when I struggle to be thankful for the gift of faith. Times when I wonder why we are still here because I long to be in heaven. When I think about and consider the price of faith, I am thankful Jesus paid the price. Because of His great love for me, I am a daughter of God!

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26

As a child of God I have a great future and a hope because Jesus chose to pay the price so that I might have faith. What a great gift that truly is. I am truly grateful that I do not have to abide by the laws and offer sacrifices to atone for my sins, which are many. Jesus paid the price so that you and I could live by faith and have eternal life.

I no longer fear what the future may bring because I am able to live by faith because of Jesus’ love for me.

The price of faith was so great it is my duty as the daughter of the King to strive to honor the man who paid the price with every day of my life. It is my ultimate desire to step out in faith each and every day knowing that He is right beside me. I may not be able to see what tomorrow will bring, but He can and I have faith that whatever comes my way He will see me through.
