The fact that I am less than a year from my tenth wedding anniversary is a miracle…I often refer to it as “a God thing”. There is simply no other reason that I should be celebrating almost a decade of marriage. If you had known me about 6-7 years ago and had told me that my husband and I would not only still be married, but that he would be my best friend, IΒ don’t know if I would have laughed at you or cried, but it would have been one or the other.
Over the years we have faced many struggles through bad choices, mistakes and past history that caused many difficulties in our marriage. Though many of the struggles and difficulties we faced were of our own doing and they still show up from time to time today, we are stronger for having faced them, pushed through them and continue to deal with them together with the Lord’s help.
Oh, how much we have learned and how abundantly God has given us grace, forgiveness and strength over the last 10 years. Throughout the hardest times in my marriage there was one verse that held tightly to that provided a promise that I needed desperately.
I’m so humbled and blessed to be sharing God’s working in my marriage as a part of the book study for Beautiful Messy Love by my sweet sister in Christ, Darlene from Time Warp Wife over at my dear friend Courtney’s corner, Women Living Well. I hope you’ll stop by and that you are blessed and encouraged.
Marriage is such a God thing! Thank-you for sharing your thoughts π And I can not wait to read Darlene’s book π
That’s so true! Marriage itself is a God thing! π I KNOW that you’ll love Darlene’s book! π Blessings!
Grace, forgiveness, and strength. What beautiful gifts God gives.
Yes indeed they are beautiful gifts! <3
Ephesians 3:20 is such a powerful verse to pray and meditate on. In all the impossible moments, trusthing the life giving power of His Word is enough, more than enough, like Ephesians 3:20 says, abundantly, exceedingly more than enough for all we leave at the foot of the Cross.
It is always great to hear of stories, like yours, were redemption and healing have paved the way for you to share your testimony.
Blessings,
Dawn
