Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

1 Chronicles 28:20

A Bit of My Story

I was raised right. If the church doors were open, we were there. I was blessed to have both my parents together throughout my life and they’re still married 40+ years later.

Our father served 23 years in the United States Navy; thus, it should be no surprise that I bleed red, white and blue. Our mother was a stay-at-home mom, which does not even begin to tell her life story.

My brothers and I were also blessed to be homeschooled, K-12. Our mother ensured that we received not only a well-balanced education but an abundance of socialization.

From sports with our local YMCA to private music lessons, from theater to helping run regional homeschool conferences/groups, from Boy Scouts to working outside the home through high school.

We. were. busy. Active in our community, church and homeschool group.

Family devotions and prayer time? Check. Family meals? Check. Sleepovers? Yup. One-on-one time with each of my parents? Yup.

When I say I was raised right, I mean it. 100%.

Somewhere along the way…in my late teen/early adult years, I lost my way.

Decades later, I can’t tell you or even pinpoint for myself what happened, the cause of my jaunt into living life my way, but it had nothing to do with not knowing better or not being raised right.

It has taken me way longer than I’d like to admit, through countless bad decisions and the lifelong regrets that came with them and innumerable life experiences that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, but here I am.

Finally. Ready. No turning back. Or aside.

Living. Courageous. Faith. Every. Single. Day.

Will you join me?
