The faith of a mother is liken to no other. She must look to the Lord each and every day, from sun up to sun down and all day long. From the time we rise until we collapse in exhaustion a mother’s faith is what will see her through her days.
Sometimes in the midst of these days, the faith of a mother gets drained and we struggle to keep our peace. It is in these times that the faith of a mother is essential. Yet, how do we grow our faith strong in the midst of all of life’s chaos that seems to be relentless?
In order for a mother’s faith to grow it requires us to be intentional with our time and actions. How we choose to use our time and the way we respond is important not only to growing our own faith, but also for teaching our children about how faith should look in their own lives. Our faith is to be living example to our children of all that God is, what He does and how we, His children, are to live.
1. Our faith must be a priority.
It can not be something we do if we have time.
Our faith must be strengthened throughout every day.
2. Faith is built up by daily being in God’s word and spending time in prayer.
Remember God knows our days as a mother, it isn’t about having hours to study, it’s about making the daily choice to spend time with Him.
3. Quality vs. Quantity
Most mother’s don’t have hours to spend studying, so we must ensure our time with the Lord is of great quality. Scripture, prayer and praise are key to the faith of a mother.
4. Praise builds our faith.
Take time to listen to some Christian music during times of difficulty and praise the Lord.
In the midst of difficult days, if we take time to praise the Lord, He will renew our strength and thus our faith continues to be built.
5. Prayer is key to hearing from the Lord.
In the quiet is when He speaks. If we don’t take time to be still then we can’t hear Him speaking to us.
As we strive each day to become closer to the Lord, grow more like Him and be a living example of God to our children, we will find the peace and direction that we often long for in our busy days. The key to growing our faith is that we must keep our eyes on Christ throughout our days and follow His ways.
