God’s directions and plans don’t always match up with ours. That is why it is important to wait until we receive directions from Him as to where He wants us to serve.
Once God reveals His ministry plans for us, then we can begin to serve Him.
It’s Time to Serve the Lord
Getting started is always the exciting part, we’re fresh and ready to take on the world. Throughout ministry there will be joy and fruit, but there will also be struggles and what may seem to be backward steps. No matter what direction we may feel we are going in, we must remember that He has everything planned out for us. As long as we are in prayer communicating with Him daily about the ministry and following His lead, then we will never have a reason to question the direction our path is taking.
Remain Focused While Serving
Along the way there will be opportunities and challenges that can take our eyes off of the path He placed us on. At the moment these things happen we need to stop and pray seeking His guidance for the situation we’re facing. Asking for advice and additional prayer support from your spouse, family and/or mentor is also an important part of this process. Just because something comes our way doesn’t mean it is part of God’s plan.
Our Relationship with God While Serving
Serving the Lord is a wonderful gift and an amazing opportunity. While we are serving Him, it is important that our relationship with the Lord remain strong and that we continue to draw closer to Him. Our relationship with the Lord is how we grow, it is also where we receive direction and refreshment. Ministry is a wonderful part of our Christians lives, but it is also where we will face some of our largest struggles in life. Knowing that the struggles will come along the way is important, but remembering that God is right beside us to pick us up and renew our strength is key.
As we journey on the path that God has placed before us, may we be ready to serve at a moments notice. Always keeping our hearts, eyes, ears, hands and mouths open to minister to those that God sends our way.
