Upon receiving Christ and being saved we begin a journey through life on which we are being transformed. As Christians our lives have been made new, but the process of transformation is not complete.
1 John 3:2-3, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Our transformation does not happen without action on our part. Living in the world that is full of sin requires us to keep our minds and thus our lives focused on the Lord.
Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
As humans and sinners, we will struggle throughout our lives along this journey to being transformed. It is not an easy task to die to ourselves, yet it is required to allow Christ to fully reign in our lives.
Romans 8:10-13, “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
Galatians 5:24, “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
We must choose to recognize our lives as crucified to who we once were and embrace life in Christ, whose crucifixion gave us access to true life in Him.
Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
One day we will be completely transformed to liken the image of God, all by the power of the spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
1 John 3:2, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
Becoming more like Christ should be the goal of every Christian. In and of ourselves we have no good thing.
Romans 7:18, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.”
All we are and all we have are from and through Christ. What amazing blessings God bestows on His children through His Son, Jesus Christ.
How thankful I am that in Christ we are adopted, beloved, complete, His daughter, enough, forgiven, gifted, held, imperfect, justified, kept, loved, molded, new, owned, precious, quieted, redeemed, saved, transformed
