You Are Wanted

Every single person in the world has at least one similar desire as everyone else. We all desire to be wanted. Whether it is by a parent, a spouse, a child, an employer, etc. We all need to be wanted by someone. The problem is though, that we often miss out on the One that can fully fill our desire to be wanted. The very One who created us can fulfill this desire all alone.

wanted

God designed us to have relationship with Him. From the beginning of time He has wanted to have an intimate, close relationship with us. When Adam and Even fell into sin and separated mankind from God, His love for us caused Him to give up His Son, Jesus Christ. With Jesus’ life sacrificed we were once again able to have the intimate, close relationship that God desired.

Could there be any better picture or example of being wanted than God the Father choosing to give up the life of His only Son, to provide a way for us and our relationship to continue throughout eternity?

In John 15 we’re told that there is no greater love than a man laying down his life for his friends. Just two verses later Jesus tells us that He call us friends. Jesus was sent on earth as a man, He proves the greatest love for us, His friends by laying down His life and dying on the cross for you and me. Does this not prove that Jesus wants you and me, just as His Father does too? (John 15:13-15)

On earth with imperfect mankind there will be times others want us, but there will also be times they don’t. This fickleness is not something we deal with in God, for He is unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His desire for a relationship with us remains still today.

Instead of looking to be wanted by men around us, we need to remember that we are always wanted by the very Ones who created us, died for us and are building us a home for eternity, where we will forever know how much we were and are wanted by them.

Being wanted by God is really all that matters because it’s the only relationship that will last all of eternity. It’s the only relationship that will fulfill us too.

Knowing that we are wanted by God should make us stop and think…do we want Him as much as He does us? In order to have the intimate, close relationship God desires we must want Him too.

No matter how alone or unwanted we may feel, we must always remember that we are wanted by the very Creator of the universe, the One whom we are to love with all our heart, soul and mind.

Not only are we wanted, but in Christ we are also adoptedbelovedcomplete, His daughter, enough, forgivengiftedheld, imperfectjustifiedkept, lovedmoldednewownedpreciousquietedredeemedsavedtransformedunited and victorious!
