Loving Directions: A Look at 1, 2 & 3 John

Throughout the books of 1st, 2nd and 3rd John we receive directions coupled with the love of God. Love is of God and He sends us loving directions through the words of the Bible. It is for our lives that He gives us these loving directions, so we don’t get lost along the way through life.

Throughout the books of 1st, 2nd and 3rd John we see loving directions from God to us!

Over the last week the Good Morning Girls have been studying through the books of 1st, 2nd and 3rd John. It has been a blessing to read through all of the loving directions God has provided us with in His word and seeing all of His love woven throughout makes me all the more thankful for the awesome God we serve!

Looking at 1st John Chapter 1 Verse 7

My Thoughts on This Scripture…

When we’re walking with the Lord and living in accordance with His will, we will be drawn to other believers seeking friendship and fellowship with them. These relationships will not be perfect. Thus we must remember that just as our sins are cleansed by Jesus’ blood theirs are too.

Taking a look at 1st John Chapter 2 Verses 1 and 2

My Thoughts on This Scripture…

God had His word written so that we would have directions on how to follow His will and minimize our sins. He knew we would never be perfect, so He sent His son to be the sacrifice for the ENTIRE world’s sin!

Looking at 1st John Chapter 3 Verses 16-18

My Thoughts on This Scripture…

We know God loves us because Jesus died to save us, this action reveals God’s love. We are called to love in the same manner, if we see someone in need, we must do whatever we can to help them.

Looking at 1st John Chapter 4 Verse 4

My Thoughts on This Scripture…

We are children of God and as His children we know the outcome of this world, God wins! Thus as His children we will overcome the evil in this world because God abides in His own and He is greater than all!

Looking at 1st John Chapter 5 Verses 11-12

My Thoughts on This Scripture…

Salvation in it’s simplicity, with Christ we have life, eternal life! What greater gift could love ever give?!

Looking at 2nd John Chapter 1 Verses 7-9

My Thoughts on This Scripture…

We must be alert and aware that there are and will continue to be deceivers in the world and even in our churches. We must take everything people say back to God’s word to ensure it lines up with it. Christ’s life as a man is key, Christians must believe He lived on earth as a man.

A look at 3rd John Chapter 1 Verse 4

My Thoughts on This Scripture…

The greatest joy is when God’s children walk in truth – the truth being God’s word! (John 17:17)
