As children we learn a song that is so simple, yet it contains truths that we need to hold onto throughout our lives.
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow
Black and white
They are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children
Of the world.Jesus died for all the children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow
Black and white
They are precious in His sight.
Jesus died for all the children
Of the world.Jesus rose for all the children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow
Black and white
They are precious in His sight.
Jesus rose for all the children
Of the world.
As children of God, this song applies to us, no matter what age we are. How wonderful it is to be precious to God the Father.
1 Peter 2:4b tells us, “chosen of God, and precious.”
What Does Being Precious Mean?
Precious ~ Of great price; costly
Being precious to God means He paid for us…it cost Him to make us precious in His sight. Last week we looked at what it cost God to own us and how great a price it was to pay.
Precious Children…Our Callings
Part of being God’s precious children is that we need to honor God and in return He showers us with His love and blessings that only He can provide.
Isaiah 43:4 says, “Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.”
When someone pays a great price for something, they expect to receive something in return. Whether it be happiness, success or recognition; no one pays for something without a reason.
Knowing as children of God what the great price He paid for us was, we must ensure that we focus on living for Him. We must personally make sure that Jesus’ death on the cross of Calvary for us was not in vain. Our lives must be dedicated to the Lord, His ways and the callings He places on our hearts. ‘
Take a moment and think of the most precious treasure you have…
- How do you treat it?
- What did you do/pay to gain it?
- Would it be easy to let it go?
You are God’s precious child and nothing will ever change that.
You’re also adopted, beloved, complete, His daughter, enough, forgiven, gifted, held, justified, kept, loved, molded, new and owned!
This is lovely Misty. When we see how precious we are in God’s eyes it does wonders for our souls! God loves us… he really, truly loves us! It’s such a simple but important truth.
Once we recognize the depth of that love and how precious we are, our relationship with Him grows exponentially.
